Threads: is there a web version for computers?
Threads has already made a global impact with over 100 million downloads within the first days of its launch. But is there a web version available yet?

Threads, the new social network from Meta that aims to rival Twitter, was rolled out last week in over 100 countries. A few hours after its launch, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the platform has already garnered over 10 million users. The question, however, is whether Threads has a web version available yet?.

Twitter owner Elon Musk, who perceives his reign threatened by Meta's new offering, has not remained silent about the apparent success of Threads.
In Twitter, Musk replied to a user, stating: "It is infinitely preferable to be attacked by strangers on Twitter, than indulge in the false happiness of hide-the-pain Instagram." This statement can be read as a clear mention at the new platform.
Musk's message comes at a time when Twitter is under immense pressure to lift the restriction imposed to users on the maximum number of messages one can view on the social network.
However, one of Twitter's highlights is its web version, which allows you to categorize and segment posts from the accounts you follow via options like TweetDeck, among others. So, does Threads have a web version yet?
Web version of Threads
Several global media outlets managed to get an early look at the web version of Threads.
For a few minutes on last Wednesday, July 5, the web version of Threads was publicly available for browsing. At that initial stage, it only displayed a timer indicating the time left until its launch.
However, the web version later became unavailable until the official app was launched on the App Store and Google Play Store.
What does the web version of Threads offer?
At present, you can find the web version of Threads at https://www.threads.net/.
However, it currently only provides the option to scan a QR code which leads to the app download on your mobile device.
Like WhatsApp Web and Instagram, it's highly probable that Threads.net will soon host the web version of Meta's new social network, which many are calling "Instagram's Twitter".
There is currently no official information on when this might happen, but considering that new launches often have a trial period, it's likely that this will happen in the coming weeks.
